Decreased T Cell Levels in Patients with Herpes Zoster

Abstract

|
It is well known that the incidence of herpes zoster is far higher among the individuals suffering from malignancy than in general population, especially among the patients of Hodgkin´s lymphoma which shows prominent .CMI deficiency, To study if there is any depression in CMI in otherwise healthy patients of herpes zoster the authour studied peripheral T cell populations in 11 cases of herpes zoster. It showed significant reduction in T cell count (43.9%) compared to normal control group (p<0.01).
