Decreased T Cell Levels in Patients with Herpes Zoster

Abstract
It is well known that the incidence of herpes zoster is far higher among the individuals suffering from malignancy than in general population, especially among the patients of Hodgkin¢¥s lymphoma which shows prominent .CMI deficiency, To study if there is any depression in CMI in otherwise healthy patients of herpes zoster the authour studied peripheral T cell populations in 11 cases of herpes zoster. It showed significant reduction in T cell count (43.9%) compared to normal control group (p<0.01).
